Questions?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.
If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.
What can I expect?
We begin with a free 20 minute phone consultation to connect, talk about what you’re looking for, and see if it feels like a good fit. If we move forward, the first few sessions are a space to better understand what’s bringing you in and what you’d like to work toward.
This is a collaborative process that unfolds over time. Therapy can include both supportive and more emotionally challenging moments, and at times things may feel more intense before they begin to feel clearer or more manageable. It also requires a gentle openness and willingness to engage in the process, which helps support meaningful change over time.
How long do I need to be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, needs, current life circumstances, what you’re hoping to work through, and the frequency we meet. Each person’s process is different, and therapy unfolds in its own way over time. Some people notice meaningful shifts within a shorter period of support, while others choose to stay longer as they continue exploring deeper patterns and areas of their life.
We’ll move at a pace that feels supportive for you and check in along the way to make sure the process continues to feel aligned with what you need.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes. I offer in-person sessions for clients located in Austin, Texas. My office is located at 8500 N. Mopac Expy, Austin, TX, 78759.
How does online therapy work?
I provide online therapy to clients located anywhere in Texas through a secure video platform, allowing you to attend sessions from a private and comfortable space that works for you. Most sessions are held via video, offering the same collaborative and relational experience as in-person therapy, just in a more accessible format.
Online therapy can be a helpful option for many people and can make support more accessible when attending in-person sessions is difficult.
However, it is not the best fit for everyone. If someone is experiencing a severe mental health crisis or having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, in-person or local emergency support is more appropriate. If these concerns arise during our work together, we will create a plan to help connect you with appropriate local resources and support.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your first session is a space for us to begin getting to know you and what’s bringing you in. We’ll explore what feels most important right now, what you’re hoping for, and we’ll also go over parts of your intake paperwork together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is the beginning of building understanding at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
What is your fee and do you accept insurance?
My fee is $135 per session. I am committed to making therapy as accessible as possible. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out—together we can explore whether a sliding-scale rate may be available.
I do not currently accept insurance, however I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your insurance provider.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate outlines the expected cost of therapy for clients who are uninsured or not using insurance. It helps you understand the cost of services before beginning.
You will receive this estimate within 24 hours of your first appointment. It may be updated if your schedule or treatment plan changes.
